TIF Community Project Engagement Opportunities In East Portland

During the month of May, Thrive Partner organizations will be hosting community events aimed at engaging community members interested in participating on one of the three East Portland CLC committees:

Sumner-Parkrose-Argay-Columbia Corridor (SPACC)
East 205

Division Midway Alliance, The Rosewood Initiative and Historic Parkrose are just a few East Portland organizations hosting events. See their flyers below and check out the Thrive East PDX calendar and the Prosper Portland website for more dates and locations.

In October 2024, Portland City Council voted to approve the establishment of six new Tax Increment Finance (TIF) districts that will spur economic growth, create jobs, and invest in a range of affordable housing options in both Central City and East Portland over the next 30 years.

If you live, work, worship, volunteer, have children in school, or have been displaced from these districts, you have a few options for engaging to inform how TIF funds will be spent over the next 30 years:

Engage directly with project staff:

- invite them to attend, or present at, a meeting for your organization
Engage with the East Portland TIF Community Project Manager:

Check the Prosper Portland page periodically for information on upcoming open houses and/or focus groups.

Join a Community Leadership Committee (see application HERE)

A Community Leadership Committee (CLC) will provide guidance and oversight on implementation of the East Portland TIF District Plans. The groups will convene in 2025 and begin work developing district action plans, which will identify specific investments for a five-year period.

CLC meetings are open to the public and will include a period for public comment.
