It’s time for another Thrive East PDX partner highlight: Historic Parkrose!

Historic Parkrose is committed to the growth and preservation of the Historic Parkrose Business District and its surrounding neighborhood. They promote economic growth and community building through engagement of their neighbors, celebrating and respecting everyone’s unique diversity.

Since 2012, Historic Parkrose has funded district improvement projects, offered technical assistance for businesses, helped found events like the Taste of Parkrose, and supported diverse community projects.

Historic Parkrose engages with the community in a variety of ways ranging from supporting neighborhood litter cleanups to fun community events like Happy Hours and the Summer Nights event.

This year, Historic Parkrose focused their energy on one big summer event, and it was a great success–about 500 people came out over the course of the evening to enjoy free music and entertainment, and the event supported dozens of BIPOC maker and food vendors.

As we go into the holidays, Historic Parkrose will be hosting Black Santa PDX at their office space! This Friday, December 1, 6-8pm, stop by to enjoy cocoa and snacks and your picture taken with Santa for free!

Here’s to creating more events and activities to bring positive energy and attention to the Historic Parkrose business district!
