Thrive East PDX is partnering with 350PDX and Oregon League of Conservation Voters to hold “Climate Coffee Chats” with Portland City Councilors. Two are currently scheduled in District 1 with Councilor Candace Avalos and Councilor Jamie Dunphy, and one in District 3 with Councilor Steve Novick.
These are designed to be relatively informal gatherings with small groups of constituents from their districts who care about climate and environmental justice. Particularly with the city budgeting process underway, it’s important to speak up about issues such as preserving PCEF (the Portland Clean Energy Community Benefits Fund), street trees, safe pedestrian access, public transit, and the parks and recreation budget. You’re also welcome to bring up topics you care about in relation to climate and environmental justice.
- D1 constituents only: Councilor Avalos, April 18, 6:00pm, location to be determined.
- D1 constituents only: Councilor Dunphy, April 30, 5:00pm, location to be determined.
Stay tuned for updates on more scheduled chats.
